Just got diagnosed
I would get a biopsy tell you what stage you are in. Blood test are not always the best. You might have ate something the liver was having a heard time to digest at the time of the blood test making it sluggish. I would get an MRI and/or ultrasound as well. I felt fine when I was diagnosed as well and was in Stage 4, but then I found out what to I was feeling, which is discomfort in your ribs and or back. Stabbing pains, Diareha when I ate wrong. Best thing to do is listen to your body. Get lots of rest and eat right. State losing a few pounds.
Blood test doesn’t really tell you much, a liver biopsy will. Yes you don’t really feel bad, though maybe a bit of a twinge or pressure under your lower right rib. That’s why it’s sometimes called a silent killer. Though the cause of NASH isn’t alcohol related, if you drink, stop. Exercise. Even if your diet isn’t bad, some changes are in order. There is some argument about fats and diet but for me I increased fruits and vegetables and if you can, adopt eating habits consistent with blue water diet. You want to give your liver as easy a job as possible for as long as possible, it can heal it self. I’m doing much better a decade later from my diagnosis.
Hi Schnauzerguy,
Please may I ask what is the blue water diet? I’ve had lots of pain under the low right rib and my partner can’t even cuddle me at night time I keep having to move his arm.
Basically diets and lifestyles found in certain areas of the world where fresh unprocessed foods are typical including lots of fish and vegetables, lots of physical exercise and tight knit communities. These places often border blue waters of the Mediterranean, Japan, Costa Rica, and coast of California. bluezones.com/2020/07/blue-...
exercise and lose weight, no sugar, low carbs, no dairy, no white rice or potatoes, no fried foods, no fatty meats; instead eat lots of fruits, veggies, seeds, nuts, berries , chicken and fish if you must have meat. You can have sweet potatoes, and brown rice.
Go to a hepatologist or gastroenterologist. Yes on the biopsy. I was put on a 2 gram salt diet. Minimize beef and processed meats. But going to a liver specialist is key. Stop alcohol consumption too. Ask any question that comes to mind of your medical specialists. Hope this helps.
