Newly diagnosed with NASH and just curious about tests I took

Hey Everyone ,

I am here because I am newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes and I was told my liver enzymes were high. After some more tests they told me that I had fatty liver on a ultrasound , but do to additional tests my Gastrologist told me NASH was the final diagnosis. She is checking for fibrosis or just to see what stage as Wayne told me in my first posting , thank you Wayne. Has anyone taken the FIBROTEST-ACTITEST PANEL (FIBROTEST)(Q1696)? I got the results today and they say I have f1 fibrosis .28 is the score , the actitest inflammation was no activity A0-A1. I am just wondering is this reversible with hard work , and will this just be a matter of using the diet recommended on here , and I read in some of the posts about certain vitamins and even taking olive oil to help things heal. I am currently on a very strict low carb diet, next to keto but not exact.I cant just eat grains how people suggest to do because of the diabetes. I went from a 11.8 a1c to 8.9 in a month and a half. I just need some direction because it is so true that these doctors don't help you with anything. They just sort of handed me a pamphlet and she said she would see me next year to check to see if it progressed. She said that my primary doctor would watch me till then . Well I order my own blood tests so I don't worry about that , but I worry should they be checking more then once a year. I am just in a whirlwind here , I have learned a lot reading here , but I just want to make sure I understand it all.

Once a year is fine while your in the early stages. I'm in stage 4 and was going every 6 months, with MRI's every 6 months, but now I'm in the research program and go every month. If it gets worst you will go more often. Good Luck

Hello

Sounds like you are doing really well for yourself and trying! WELL DONE!

Low carbs is great it takes alot of added pressures of the liver. AS CARBS TURN IN TO SUGAR IN YOUR BODY. FACT )

If you are well enough some small activites will help take it to the next level and help shift some fat off your liver.

Please do seek advice from your GP before you do any new activities or excersise.

Excersise is also said to lower liver enzymes.

I'm not a gp. But spend many years researching.

There is a CHANCE for reversal at this stage.

Yes there is no care or time for questions anymore now most people are just given results and a lefleat then they are on sent on there way.

Thank you so much for the encouragement , I will be honest and tell you that it has just been one thing after the other with the diabetes diagnosis and now NASH . It all has me feeling pretty defeated, especially when nobody around me has really heard of this and really didn’t buy there wouldn’t be any symptoms . I did feel better that I was at the lower end but I don’t ever want to get comfortable enough to ever again let it get this out of control . I had been caregiving for over 6 years and basically ignored all of my personal issues. It was careless and irresponsible and looking at my disabled son and other little kids it sort of makes me sick . You helped a lot, I am glad I am sorta starting out right ! Bless you ! Thanks!

Sounds like you have a lot on your plate. We often neglect ourselves while long term caring for others then we look back and our own bodies have been damaged from our neglect to our own self health, wellbeing .

I say never give up on yourself. Never to late to look after yourself abit more and love ourselves.

Give ourselves abit of TLC

MEANING EAT HEALTHIER A LITTLE EXCERSISE, ABIT MORE THINGS THAT MAKE US FEEL GOOD ABOUT OURSELVES.

WHICH WILL HELP BUILD OUR SELF ESTEEM AND THEN WE FEEL MORE EQUIPPED FOR THE BATTLE TO IMPROVE OUR BODIES INTERNALLY.
