I was diagnosed January 2021 with stage 4 Nash through a fibroscan and had a liver biopsy for confirmation in February 2021. It confirmed the diagnosis as well as a diagnosis of beginning cirrhosis. I have attached my first 3 scans. I went last week for my 4th scan since following low carbs, walking 2-3 miles daily, and drinking coffee and I finally dropped to a 6.2 and 206! My lifestyle is working!!!

Reversing Stage 4 Nash!

That is so awesome! Great job!!
Yes I had same diagnosis, and same prescription for, NASH, 3 years ago, I am still on a low carb diet, exercising 3 times a week. Keep it up we will win this thing. Any questions, give me a shout !!
Great job!
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼💐
Congratulations!!! Keep up the good work and providing great inspiration!!
Great news! What are some examples of the carbs you ate ? I'm a month into this still trying to tweak my diet. So far I've done really no carbs
I basically cut out normal sugar, potatoes, pasta, and bread. At first I limited myself to 20 ish carbs. I weighed 164 a year and a half ago and have maintained 122-126 for the last 6 months. I also stayed away from most fruits except blueberries and raspberries. After losing the weight, I have since added a couple of the tiny red potatoes once in a while and takes bites of all fruits and even a roll once in a while. I also drink a glass of wine once a week and sometimes have a little bourbon (I miss that the most😉). If I know I am having regular pizza or other foods with carbs , I just make sure I don’t have many throughout the day. I downloaded a keto app after my initial diagnosis and learned carb contents of everything so you just eventually know what you can and can’t have. You have to cheat or you will crave it! Candied pecans with monk fruit are a life saver for me. Unfortunately this diet is expensive! I use monk fruit and recently discovered the powdered sugar stevia - yum! It will just eventually become a lifestyle for you. The walking is important and the coffee supposedly is good too! I have yet to drink it without sugarfree creamer or syrups - but I do it! You got this!
I limit my intake to low carb, but cauliflower and broccoli, cabbage, Brussels sprouts, tomatoes, salad fixings are good vegetales, berries are good fruit strawberries, blueberry, blackberry, raspberry, slot of eggs, hard cheese, Access diet dr.com for low carb recipes
That's awesome! Way to go!
Congratulations! You keep me inspired as I am F3 Nash. I have lost 30 lbs with 10 to go and following diet like yours. I am also type 2 diabetic and have high cholesterol and triglycerides.
I was diabetic as well, but no longer! I went from a 7.6 A1C to a 5.4! Best of luck to you😊
keep up the good work we can change our life by taking care of our sselves.. I am type 2 and high BP and cholesterole and high triglycerides also but my A1c is at 6.6 and I am trying my hardest to loose weight and keep it all where it should be!!! Its best for us all !!!
It sure is a battle! I have gotten a1c down to 5.8 but the weight barely budges as I am on Mirtzapine for sleep and it causes major weight gain. I have not been able to get off that drug but have lost 30 so I keep on working at it. Best wishes to you!
Have you tried low carb diet?
Yes I am on low carb and do intermittent fasting few days a week eating in 8 hour window.
Ok eat breakfast & supper 30 carbs, 134 gr. Protein, 89gr. Fat 1460 calories, exercise .
I mean I eat this way.
My diet dr has put me on Phentermine 15MG to squelch appetite some, it helps alot and I take for 90 days then lay off for 30 days then start back. check it out might help YOU...
Glad to hear it is helping you. Unfortunately my weight gained is from Remeron a sleep med I have been on 20 years and unable to get off. I have managed to get 30 lbs off by really be strict eating and I think with higher dose metformin. My dr has me down to 1 metformin instead of 3 a day now and the weight loss has stopped. It sure is a daily battle!
Well you sound like where I was Aug. 2019. I have lossed 250 triglycerides . Besides the helping thr fibrosis and liver, so it does help & it works. Ron
Did your triglycerides improve with diet? Mine are around 240 and ldl 115. I have that familial high cholesterol and on crestor statin but afraid to increase dose because of the f3 liver. Hope you are doing well!
I am still taking meds but I believe the low carb diet and exercise hase helped my A1c & triglycerides more than my meds have. My triglycerides were over 500 whrn I started this so have cut that more than half so far!!!
That is great to hear! This is such an ongoing battle. Somedays I wish I could just eat wings and have a milkshake. Wish you well.
Fantastic work!
I am so thrilled to see how the A1C can be driven down and not taking medications. The meds are horrible it is a staircase to insulin shot dependency and neuropathy. The answer is proper foods and exercise.
Ladyellyn is one thousand percent correct. The answer is indeed correct food and exercise!!!
Great job, keep it up!
Love this! My numbers have steadily been improving too.
Great !! I had same start and it all works by low carb diet and exercising, congrats!!!
Do you know why the CAP score stays so high? And is that bad that it does
Do you know why the CAP score remains high? And is that bad that it is
Do you mean the 206 score?
Can you actually reverse cirrhosis? Or just prevent from worsening?
I really hate to bust your bubble, but that is not reversing the Stage 4. That is reversing the fat around the liver, but not the Cirrhosis. Mine has gone way down as well and the Dr. said they thought I was in Stage 2 or 3 according to the Fiber scan, yes the fat is separating and not as tight around the liver as it was, however with a 3rd biopsy within 3 years because I was on the research program, the cirrhosis is still in stage 4. The Cirrhosis is not getting any better and is the hardest to reverse. Everything with the fiber scan is great news, you are extending your life, however your not reversed. They are working with a new pill that has not been FDA approved yet, that is supposed to work from the inside out and will help reverse the Cirrhosis. Keep up the good work, you are getting better, as I am too after 21 years of dealing with NASH and stage 4 and a weight lose of 70 pounds.
MayI ask what your fibroscan numbers started at and what they reduced to? I went to a research trial twice. The first time my numbers and biopsy of cirrhosis wouldn’t let me qualify, however, the second time I attended I did qualify. But I was not willing to go through the biopsies required. They told me they have had people with higher numbers, but did not have cirrhosis so I am quite mystified why/how I did? I was not very large, ate pretty decent, and athletic so I have never fit into the cirrhosis mold of NASH.
Keep up th÷great work!
If I am not over weight, What is more important to cut back on carbs or saturated fats, I was lead to believe it was the fats??????? Please advise, Thank you
Excellent!
Fantastic !!! I am so happy for YOU!!! Keep it up !!! Great job, I have been struggling my self but I must get back to what I type here to YOU !!!!
Congratulations 🎊 👏!!!
I don't want to burst your bubble, but I have been in Stage 4 for years. I have lost over 60 pounds and yes my fiber scans are way down and you would think I would be out of Stage 4 and out of cirrhosis, but I'm not. My scans went from around 25 to 9.4, but my biopsy still says I'm in Stage 4. I was in a research program and thought I'd be down to a Stage 3 or even 2 but nope. I'm still in Stage 4 with a scan still around 9. I went from 283 to 205 so actually almost 80 pounds lost. Stay positive and still keep up the good work losing, but if your in Stage 4 it is going to take a lot of time to reverse the cirrhosis. I've live 22 years and still going.
