I saw these plant based PIRQ brand ones that have no sugar (actually quite a few seem to advertise no sugar nowadays) and from the nutrition facts they didn’t seem too bad.
Is there more to the equation?

You need to be careful with what it is sweetened with. I was told no fake sugars however, the doctor didn't know much about Stevia. I do eat fat free yogurt sweetened with Stevia but not every day. Even fiber drinks use fake sugars, Metamucil is the only one that uses Stevia.
There is a giant marketing push these days about so called "superfoods". Lots of plants are beneficial but you rarely need fancy packaging and slick advertising to get them. Peas, brown rice, almonds, and avocados you can get. There is some evidence for turmeric. Personally I don't know maca, but just because it is an old folk medicine shouldn't guide you. Keep in mind that ancient Chinese medicine still sells rhino horn as medicine. Ask them for the research that shows it is likely to be useful for a liver patient.
