Hi everyone. So I had my hepatologist consultation yesterday. She was extremely sweet and caring. She took the time to break everything down and made me feel sane again. She seems pretty confident that the results from from shear wave elastography over estimated my fibrosis score to f3. She reviewed my fibrosure and an abdominal ultrasound also . She will re do labs and I will have a fibroscan in office end of May. She was reassuring in regards to not having that much scarring and she said that I'm on the right track with diet and exercise and knows that I can reverse this. I have lost about 15 lbs in a month mostly from being afraid to eat in the beginning and now doing 30 mins of strength training and cardio a day. I have been only eating greens Chicken salmon eggs tuna and healthy fats with nuts avo oil and olive oil. I'm also eating berries. Dr did say I should add more protein to my diet since I'm working out and try to have an average of 2lbs a week too much too fast isnt too good. Can anyone recommend what else I can add to my diet to help me not drop so quickly I only eat like 2 meals a day

If you are getting the amount of protein she wants you to have you can add a tablespoon or two of olive oil to balance the energy available to stabilize weight loss.

Thank you . I was thinking of adding more vegetables too I'm only eating cruciferous veggies at the moment. I have been so scared to eat and kept reading such conflicting information on mediterranean diet or clean keto. Hepatologist said mediterranean but I wonder if I can have the feta cheese. Greek yogurt beans etc. Or will that hurt me more

Eating more and a wider variety of vegetables won't be a negative, just avoid simple starches like potato but unless you have some allergic response to some particular item plant based foods are beneficial. When you look at things like Feta, the biggest issue is salt. You should be limiting salt. The simplest way to describe a healthy diet is don't eat anything white, here is a link.

I've never had the swelling before this year! Do not tolerate much beyond 2000, not recommending it!! My face gets swollen, my eyes like globes and of course lower extremities. Wake up in am with my face swollen.

The major problem with me. You can take me off if you want j5527 is privileged and I would never be able to afford some of the tests your team suggest! This is not equality here so you get a feeling of you don't care I don't give a shit!!!! When you watch 2 family members die from complications from end stage liver disease and another in decline it doesn't present much of a future! My sister was denied DIALYSIS!! There was no reason why, just oops too late now! She was on Medicare, she was in & out of the hospital <30 days being readmitted. When that occurs, Medicare does not pay the hospital, due to what they call 'poor outcomes'. Last time she was admitted, they made a poor effort to save her, died at 68! I'm sinnical about the healthcare system in the USA and chronically I'll patients exception RENAL, are not supported clinically definitely not financially! I've been in bankruptcy, chapter 13. Lost my home last year. It gets worse!!!

We agree with you. Our medical system is badly broken. It is great if you are in the right place or have plenty of money but for many of us we are treated badly. Medical care is great, until it is not. We are working to build a group as no one listens to one person but sometimes a group can make more noise. If you haven't yet, please consider taking part in the Care Survey.
