Hi, if I have 1 day off my healthy eating diet and get a takeaway with hubby for our wedding anniversary would it damage my fatty liver a lot?

It all depends on where you are on the damage spectrum. If you have reserve capacity a short term stress test of your liver function is unlikely to cause lasting damage. If you are living on a knife edge and get tipped into an acute response more damage might be the result. I have celebrations in small amounts. Rather than a whole chocolate dazzlers that I love I have a quarter a couple of times a year. Dose is a big part of it. Enjoy but moderately is my personal view.

Yea that’s the trouble I don’t know how bad it is as the doctor rang me with a out the blue phone appointment 4 months after the scan! By that time I just assumed everything was ok & certainly didn’t realise I might have liver issues as the scan was for a pain in my left side under ribs & into my back. So when I got the call I was shocked & didn’t ask many questions as I’d never even heard of fatty liver before. She didn’t say what type or how bad it was. I’m booked in for blood tests on Wednesday to check cholesterol levels so am going to make an appointment after that to get some more info. Since the news I’ve managed to loose 8lb so off to a good start. Thank you for your replies x

Don't know if this will help and it is designed for people who are dealing with serious disease but actually is good for anyone. This is the strategy we recommend.
