Hi there! I am new here and need some help. My mom was diagnosed with NASH in April. She is not overweight but actually under weight. She has had several liters of fluid drained from her stomach on several occasions so far. She is very fatigued, and because of that has lost a lot of mobility. Currently She is in a rehab facility for physical therapy. I live in a different state and I am so worried. Any words of comfort is greatly appreciated at this point. Her husband is not any help. He is certain she will die any second, he suffers from depression, anxiety, and panic attacks. So he isn't helping the situation. She is on a special diet now. Please can someone tell me some good news? Thanks so much! I appreciate this community!

Hello. I'm afraid I don't know what advice to offer -you are in a tough spot living out of state. I am in the same boat with my mom, but fortunately she hasn't needed the draining yet (my brother had a lot of that so I am familiar). The situation with her husband doesn't help. I hope that her doctors are offering advice, other than PT. I just wanted to let you know that this is a fabulous community of people going through similar situations, so please hang in there and keep checking back for tips and/or inspiration. Good luck with your mom. It sounds like she is in the right place with rehab where she can be monitored.
