Hey guys, I am having some trouble getting a DR to allow me to get a Fibroscan. So far, two have said I do not need one however I just want to confirm my Liverfast results(which show only minimal fat and no fibrosis). I have had fatty liver for a few years but recently lost a bunch of weight and all my blood work looks good.
Any tips or suggestions? I really am getting tired of going to DR's offices and now I am looking at about 2 hour drives to the next available DR's on my list to ask.
I know this sounds very hypochondriac but I just want to know. I do have a ultrasound in July but I really am interested in seeing if I have scaring.
Thanks

It can be a challenge with some docs and you might have to pay for it yourself. Here is a link to a map so you can see what is near you. If you volunteer for a clinical trial many of them will do that as part of the early screening.
Hi, the same situation is in my country (Czech republic, Europe). My practitioner said I don’t need ultrasound let alone fibroscan. What I did is I contacted directly the hospital who does it for money and had a fibroscan there. It cost about 20 USD. I googled it first as not all hospitals do it. Most of places need a referral from your practitioner. I also realised that you can order your blood test privately if you pay for it. It’s not expensive either. So I use that occasionally too. The liver enzymes test is pretty cheap too. I mean like 25USD for ALT, AST, GGT, ALP, bilirubin, cholesterol, HDL, LDL and triglycerides combined. I supposed it should be similar in USA if that’s where you live.
I got approval to get a fibroscan. I am in the process of waiting for it to get scheduled. I'll post the update and how it co.pared to my LiverFast test
