Newbie to Fatty Liver
Lots of really good olive oil, low acidic coffee and very little of the "white foods" like bread, sugar, pasta, potatoes.. May sound crazy, but I enjoy my salads with fruit, nuts & lots of olive oil.
Welcome. Cut out sugar, alcohol white breads, pastas cakes cookies. I try to follow the Mediterranean diet and I'm trying to cut back salt cuz that's really bad too. I have to admit I fail a lot because I really love food it is a battle for me. Never give up and keep striving to eat clean and better. I try to use olive oil with everything I can. And exercise is very good for the liver.
How did you find out you have a fatty liver disease? If this is a picture of you above look in great shape.
I normally request my dr for a liver profile with my annual check-up and my liver enzymes were very much elevated. I got an ultrasound and that was how I got diagnosed with fatty liver. I'm asian, 5'3" and my weight (145lbs) is normal for my size. I normally exercise regularly 3-4 times a week.
sprouted grains, in addition to what has been said. Avoid fried food, avoid any food with Added/ enriched with iron! No alcohol, check for things that say " extract" like vanilla extract. if it is cooked, the alcohol burned off, if not, it has alcohol. Even in cough syrup. I use Whole Earth Stevia with monk fruit sparingly to sweeten tea/ coffee instead of sugar but others on here do not. I eat low sugar fruits with antioxidants daily: berries along with a protein. plant based proteins as much as possible and extra protein. I use powdered peanut butter as it is low fat, low sugar and can be mixed with water or into foods, I sprinkle on salads or add to olive oil for dressing.
Do not use tylenol. Limit medications to what is necessary and double check with internet/pharmacist/Dr. for effect on liver. I limit my intake of Vit C because it encourages the uptake of iron which I limit. Drink clear clean plain water throughout the day. Avoid soda, any carbonated drink. of course, no smoking or drinking alcohol
Best wishes!
