Hi,

I am new to the forum. I am writing as I am wondering if anyone can shed some light on a couple things for me... I was recently diagnosed with Fatty Liver. after an ultrasound of my abdomen. My main symptom was nausea. constant nausea... Was anyone else suffering with similar symptoms when diagnosed? I am asking because what I have read makes it seem as though you get nauseous when it has become serve. I am currently in wait for another appointment with my provider. Just a little panic...

Many thanks,

I didn’t have fatty liver, but had hepatitis C, pneumonia which damaged my liver into Cirrhosis. I did have nausea. Every month I would get flu like symptoms and my GP thought that was what I was going through, thus not doing

bloodwork which would of caught my disease earlier. And wouldn’t of damaged my liver as bad. I was in full blown liver cirrhosis (stage 5) and the nausea, fever and headaches put me to bed for several days until I could get enough sleep to feel a little better. Then i would start getting sick/tired again each day. Now today I have hope. My Cirrhosis is getting better. Your liver will regenerate, but it does take time maybe years. Good luck. I was more than scared too. But medicine has come a long way. Cut way back on salt/sodium and eat as much dark green leafy foods as possible. No alcohol until doctor gives permission. My doctor even told me to cut back on protein. I take water pills for the liver bloat, but they cause night leg cramps. I’ve backed off on them. Being scared is the most common feeling to have. Write down questions before going to your doctor and ask them everything you want to know. Again Good Luck!!

Hi CR

Nausea is a common symptom but a lot of things can do that so you should try to take a breath and relax a little. Fatty liver is the condition before the liver is damaged. Your goal is to get a specific diagnosis to determine is you are correctly diagnosed. Being confidant of the diagnosis is critical

I was diagnosed with fatty liver in 2017 during routine blood work. I was shocked, I never experienced ANY symptoms at all.

Be very careful as there arent any symptoms for fatty liver disease --- just make sure you ask doc how much you are affected and get regular tests . I had fatty liver diagnose about 8 years ago nobody seemed concerned then I had the next stage NAFLD Iwasnt seen for two years and now have Nash which is a lot more serious .
