Hello, i have a fatty liver and i also need to lose around 50 lbs.
I started to walk 30 mins a day. My concern is my diet. It is so confusing with all the info on the internet!
My doctor said to eat low fat but low fat has added sugar and if i do no carbs then i would be eating high protein which is not good for the liver. So i made up a plan and wanted to see if i am on the right track.......
No alcohol, sugar, nothing white, and cutting down on fried foods (till i eat none). I eat salads including veggies, cabbage, avocados, and spinach with olive oil and lemon juice. My proteins are eggs, chicken, pork (lean), beef, beans, ham, and tuna. For my carbs, I eat Ezekiel bread, brown rice, quinoa, root vegetables (sweet potatoes, plantains, taro/yucca), oat bran cereal (made like oatmeal), steel cut oatmeal, sugar free preserves, and in my coffee, almond milk creamer with Stevia). I also snack on fruits (no watermelon), low fat string cheese, no sugar greek yogurt, 100 calorie popcorn, peanut butter, almonds, walnuts, and sunflower seeds. I try to add cinnamon, ground flaxseed, and turmeric in my food.
I take daily a multivamin, omega, and CoQ10. Ehat about vitamin E, or milk thistle? Not sure if that would help as im already taking vitamins, etc.
I also read some articles on Dr. Mark Hyman that are interesting. Should i follow his diet as well?
Am i on the right track? Are these acceptable to reduce my fatty liver and lose weight? Is there anything i should cut back on or add? Sorry, for the long post but Im very confused.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thank you.
