Liver popping

When my liver was massive, I would experience a popping sensation from the area of my liver which I can only liken to a baby kicking during pregnancy. Sometimes it was just one severe pop, enough to take my breath away, while at ither times a continuous popping of lesser magnitude nevertheless, debilitating. No doctor could explain the cause and I suspect they never believed me.

Has anyone else experienced this symptom?

Can anyone explain the sensation?

Hi, I found this post from another liver community that describes "liver palpitations" and someone mentions "colonic spasm", might be helpful. healthunlocked.com/britishl...

I had that happen to me also...only a few times but you described it well by the reference to baby kicks. It was almost an internal spasm...no idea what caused it or what was really happening

Since others have had similar experiences to us, perhaps it's time for the medical profession to take us seriously. You would think that someone would be interested in this phenomenon and try to get to the bottom of it ...

I also have had this happen to me. At first it was shocking! It really does feel like a baby kicking!

southpaw43 , I believe that researchers should investigate to find the cause and effect because doctors are only hazarding a guess when they tell us the rubbish they appear to have so far been spouting.

I think you should tell your doctor Abby14 if we don’t tell them about it the symptom won’t get recognised

Yes I have experienced this “spasm” mostly at night when I would lay down. It literally would take my breath away. I was just diagnosed with fatty liver , had the fibroscan done and no fibrosis. I have been exercising and watmy diet and already starting to feel better and spasms have lessened and not as severe. Has anyone else ever experienced these spasms or stabs at night?

I’ve had some pain and pinch feeling in the area. I have Cirrhosis from Hep C. Since my spleen is enlarged due to helping clean toxins for my liver. I’ve had the pinched feeling. Feels like an organ had been pinched between my ribs. Hope you feel better soon.
