intermittent fasting for women, ♀︎

Good morning everyone,

Here is an excellent in depth guide to intermittent fasting for females as it explains how your hormones change so your body will go into famine mode if you go too long without food and there's also who shouldn't do IF which's also very important as IF isn't for everyone, so please note if you're pregnant nursing under heavy stress have a history off an eating disorder or insomnia then IF is not for you.

Please remember to keep IF so that works for you as its not a competition it's to enhance your life and relationship with food amongst other benefits.

Hi Hidden

This is a very interesting article, thanks for sharing it.

Zest :-)

Thank you Zest, I think it's informative. 😊

It's not directly applicable to me but it's good to understand how my wife might be affected if she decides to fast.

Maybe I can share this video by Mindy Pelz that I watched some time ago...

It does not say very much - except that all the popular IF schemes are OK.

The implication is that IF is OK for post-menopausal females.

Dr Mindy's video is informative... one category of women she does not mention is "trying for a baby"... I would have thought that the week before ovulation... the "conception window" would have been important. I would think that, even if conception occurs, nutrition between ovulation and when menstruation would occur is vital, as, I think, any stress would abort the fertilized egg.

Hi S11m, if you are new to IF then all info helps and this is a very clearly written introduction to IF.

Obviously being an experienced and male faster it's not interesting for you. I want to collate information to help encourage fasters to do it in a positive and helpful manner for them and the more articles that we have in one place the better I think.

As an advocate of fasting, it is of interest to me. Contra-indications are important.

Many thanks for sharing this. It was an interesting read. At the moment I’m only doing the fasting between 12 and 16 hours in length so that’s ok. I feel comfortable with it.

Thank you BC and thats the secret as it has to work for you so if you're comfortable with it then thats great as its sustainable. 😊

All so interesting broth soup sounds interesting - any tips on how to make it would be appreciated?

Hi Liz, Thank you and I'm sorry that somebody was pestering you and many members have had the same problem. What all members should do if they receive unwanted private messages is to click the 3 dots bottom right of the message click report, report them then click mute now HU and the admin can deal with the pest and you have muted them, so they cannot contact you again.
