Hi, I was all set to do a disimpaction next week as we were getting constant soiling (never done one before) but wasn’t sure if I just couldn’t get movicol levels right. Any way yesterday after seven soils of type 6 (very sticky like cow pats) he did a perfect no. 4 on the potty.
This morning he’s had no accidents and just took himself onto the potty and did another no.4. This one was good consistency but quite large so not sure if it was too big indicating stretched bowel requiring disimpaction or whether just to carry on trying to get correct movicol level? Picture of the second bigger stool. Apologies 🤣

I would disimpact then you know for sure he's not constipated. Large stools can be a sign of constipation which I learnt recently. It's not going to hurt to disimpact.
lol I’m glad I’m not the only one photographing poos! I would definitely keep movicol. I thought my son was all clear and kept up last 3 dAys he poops out larger than a grapefruit! Well now safe to say he is clear but I will keep going. He had been holding back for so long Ive heard it takes a while to gain feeling back
Thanks OlivesYou! We had a no accident day yesterday so am hoping he’ll get one out this morning I only gave 1/2 sachet yesterday and this morning so if no joy today then a full sachet tomorrow I guess or maybe half tonight before bed xx
Well I’ve decided I’m not going to do a disimpaction as he has had proper diarrhoea since yesterday afternoon. He did a good normal poo on the potty in the morning and then the runs started in the afternoon. I had also done the sweet corn test and that emerged in the solid stool at 22hrs so I’m pretty sure he isn’t backed up so I’m going to keep experimenting with the movicol levels. My Dr wasn’t keen for me to disimpact either as she didn’t think it was required so will see how I go for next few weeks. Thanks for your thoughts xx
