Any1 got any tips to manage BAD PMT each month (I am not on contraception as sort-of trying to conceive) I am taking evening primrose oil - but anything else? The mood swings are quite bad, I'm in tears and very irrational without fail once a month - like clockwork!! Help!!

You can have severe PMT and not have an ounce of endo, or you can have endo not have much if any PMT, or neither or both.

PMT is related to the hormone levels in your body, and oestrogen being the much more dominant in the week or so before a period because the progesterone is blocked from working, you need to top up with progesterone to counteract the extra oestrogen. But that could kick your efforts to conceive in to touch, so probably best to do not a lot while you are TTC except avoid stressful situations as much as possible and steer clear of your partner for their sakes when your PMT is raging. Stress is a major factor and anything you can do to remain calm is a good idea.

After TTC for later on, you would probably want to do something to stop the periods, to stop the fluctuating hormone levels each month. Either with BC pills or nexaplon or mirena coil etc.

Before I was diagnosed with Endo, in relation to the periods becoming more intense, the PMT was also horrendous. I was Evil Edna. I didnt recognise myself and this uncontrollable monster was raging up and out of my mouth at a race of knotts anyone in the way got full force of it!!! My poor family. It really frightened me. So for me the Mirena Coil put Evil Edna to bed and i havent heard her since. Im sorry that this probably wont help your cause but i can marry the two together for sure. Good luck in finding something that helps. :) xx J

Thanks both! The mirena was amazing for me, I had one for 2.5 years but now it's been out for 8 months and this is why the pmt has got really bad!!

I will just have to manage it! It's only my poor husband who witnesses this!

Hi Hun, I've suffered badly as well, so much so I took an overdose once. I now have acupuncture and the put a needle in my hand between my left thumb forefinger and the effect is amazing. Last month when I missed my session I had horrendous pmt for about 8 days, this month I had one evening of tears when my cooking went wrong and that was it. Try it it might help you, it might also help you get pregnant. Lots of luck. Margo xx

I get really bad PMT, have done since I was 10. I feel like I lose the plot once a month and turn into a different person. I am yet to find anything that helps apart from staying away from people lol. If anything you find works then please share with us xx
