Anyone taken anything that helps with the hot flushes while on Prostap injections?
Yes i got some hormone tablets called Livial from my gp. They have helped a little with the awful side effects. xx
Thanks Sarah, I asked my GP and he totally put me off taking medication for the hot flushes as he said that the medication gives you bad headaches. Someone said 'Sage' tincture, but it's not helping...arghh....think I may ask another GP nfor the Livial xx
Livial worked wonders for me. Its a mild synthetic HRT, so not as harsh as others are. It doesn't work for everyone, but your GP should be able to help if you discuss it with him/her. Naturally, a high dose Starflower oil capsule once a day is fab. Takes a month to get into your system and star working but it was brilliant for me. Hope you find a solution. Good luck xxxx

I used to get bad headaches, but not as many since taking Livial. xx
Livial worked wonders for me too. No headaches and any symptoms some settled down.
I'm on climival. For the first 2 weeks i had headaches everyday and about 3 migraine attacks. I've been on it for 3 months now,the hot flushes have gone down to maybe 5 day (they were every 10 minutes!) and i still get the odd headache and migraine. I'd prefer that then having endo pains all the time xx
Hi there - I started taking Livial 7 weeks after my 1st Prostap 3 injection (hot flushes only started around 4 weeks in and I (stupidly) thought I would get away with not taking it). However, when I went back to my consultant he convinced me it was worth trying. I have noticed some improvement but I think I will also give the Starflower Oil a try as I just had my second injection yesterday. I hope you find a solution as I really can sympathise with you - the hot flushes are awful... especially when some Smart Alec pipes up: " Oooooh, are you having hot flush?" (making a joke), lol. (I'm 45 but look younger...)
But overall, like last poster said, it is still a thousand times preferable to suffering the crippling agony 3 weeks out of every 4 that I went though before. xxx
