Hi,

I've had some degree of bleeding (varying from red to brown) for the past 4 weeks - I've not been on prostap but I'm on the pill and I'll ask the GP to change it. Sorry this might not help much.

A :)

Hi,

This was one of the things that made me think I had endometriosis. I came off the pill three years ago and go kept telling me it was normal and it would sort itself after a few months. After 6 months I was still just getting brown discharge instead of period and gp still told me it was normal and it is just coming out slower and I should be grateful cos my periods were lighter (they had always been really heavy). She said when you're on the pill your period changes over time but you don't notice cos you're on the pill. Anyway it has only been over last six months that I have gradually started getting more red but only a day to a day and a half and has been more maroon than the bright red I used to be used to and then light and light brown spotting for another five days. However, my last period I had five days of bright red blood and a couple days of spotting afterwards. At first I was really pleased thinking this is what it should be but then I worried in case it meant endo had got worse and didn't know what to think. I mentioned this to surgeon morning of my laparoscopy and he said it probably didn't have anything to do with the endo but probs just means my hormones are balancing out. The only thing I can think of which I have done over the last few months is (mostly) cut out gluten and changed milk for almond milk (apparently dairy contains estrogen). I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it or if my body is just sorting itself out. However, saying that I am due to have first period since lap today and don't have any premenstrual symptoms so will have to see. I was told it may be different to usual this month.

I haven't been properly diagnosed yet, but been put on Zoladex for possible gynae problem. Anyway i too have brown discharge it happens about 5 days after my period stops, then a couple of days after that red discharge! Today it feels like some one cutting knife in ovary, left worse today and worse when i sit down. I will be pleased when i get a proper diagnosis. Also 2 years ago i had a demoid cyst removed and my left ovary and tube so how come i get pain on both sides? I could go on but wont today just going to try not to stress about everything. x
