Hi Rhi28, i think its impossible to choose because you dont know what effects you will have till you start on it and everyone seems to be so different .Personaly i was fine with zolodex but it was nearly 10 years ago and the hostpital had lost my notes and gave me prostap this time and i presumed it was just a different brand name. The prostap has given me headaches and im really tired but people have reasurred me this will pass in a few weeks so Im just having to keep my fingers crossed .Also i have been given a low dose hrt to help with any symptoms so as im only a week into it im hoping they will help too.

Im sorry i can't give you any more helpful advice its a bit trial and errror with it.But i must admit i am normaly in agony in this part of the month and i have none of the pain at all.So its definatly worth trying.Lots of love and good luck with it luv.xx

Thank you. Think I'll have a look at the side effects, talk to the doctor. I'm really hoping they help. Yes I'll need HRT too. Glad they seem to be helping you xx

I was told by the doctor they are both exactly the same, just different names. Like tesco own brand paracetamol and panadol (both paracetamol tablets) :) x

And Prostap was amazing at reducing my pain, it had vanished whilst on these injections. Side effects v's pain, rather side effects of flushes and headaches but I was not on any hormone replacement therapy at all so my hormones blocked all at once so the side effects of hot flushes were intense but then did have injections last summer and our old flat was a constant 30 degree celsius during one month last year! x

It's really strange - they are supposed to be the same drug, but there is obviously something different in them. When I had my very first course it was Prostap and I felt fantastic. Then when I needed another course, my health authority had stopped funding Prostap and was giving everybody Zoladex instead, so I had that, and it was AWFUL.

Fast forward 15 years to last October when I developed a cyst and had to go back to it - I asked for Prostap having had several courses of Zoladex over the years which had made me feel horrible - within two months I was begging to go back to Zoladex because my body wouldn't tolerate the Prostap at all....

As loubyloo said, it's trial and error really. If you find you're really not getting on with the one you plump for, they can change you over

Good luck and lots of love

I'm on Prostap, but all hormones effect people differently, I've had hot flushes, sore breasts and ocassional migraine but that's been about the full extent of how bad it's been for me. Like Chrissie said, they can change you over if one really doesn't agree with you.

Good luck.

I am about to have my last Prostap jab after being on for 4 months already and i have to agree it really is about you personally.

I know people who had none or little side effects where as i had terible side effects...........migraines, nausea, horrendous hot flushes my gp wouldnt give me hrt as she said it would defeat the object of having the jab................after my first jab i developed a terribly itchy rash all over my body and had to have tabs off the gp to help with it...............i am know nearing the end of this treatment and have to decide what to do next!

Good Luck xxxx

I was on prostap injections. i found these helped me very much i had one a month for around 8 months even though you are only supposed to have them for 6. I had the side effects of night sweats, headaches, flushes etc, basically all the menopausal symptoms even though i was only 17 at the time. However you feel like the side effects are something you just have to put up with as it does help you alot! Hope this helps.

If it helps, I was on Zoladex for six months I had side effects of hot and cold flushes, and feeling sick but my periods stopped, if I could I would go back on them so will need to ask my gyne or doctor when I can get an appointment.

If you need to chat email me.

Thank you ladies. Your all right, everyone is different. I started the prostap on Friday with HRT. Started a period on the Saturday. I hope it's my last one. And this injection works. If it does, then after 6 months I'll be on a waiting list for a laposcopy. Thanks again xx

The Doctors are saying this will prove its hormonal, if the prostap works. As I'm still not diagnosed yet. Had lap in March this year and the lumps on my bowel were clear of endo. But my new consultant thinks I could still have it. I'm so confused and fed up of hurting. Just praying this works xx
