the hospital rang on friday and said i could come in today instead of 22nd august, ideal - he agreed to refer me for the endometrial ablation, also had my pre-op today, so assuming all that was ok, i will need one more scan before the procedure and then it will be done, and i can have this wretched mirena coil out - i know the ablation will only deal with the bleeding and not neccessarily deal with the pain, but, dealing with thing is better than both as far as i can see, if the pain does continue then i know i will have to push for the lap, but in the meantime i'm happy that they are most probably (fingers crossed all ok with pre-op) going to do the ablation.
hope everyone is ok xxx

oh but before he said i could have the ablation he did try to get me to have a new coil, he said the one i have may well be faulty! i said i did not want it, i've given it 12 months which is long enough to see if it will work xx
Yay, a good outcome to your appointment Worth. Hopefully you wont have too long to wait for the op date.
You made me smile with your consultants last-ditch efforts to get you to try another coil first. The one you have in now could be faulty?? Whatever next-maybe the second one you try would also be faulty! The things that are said to us to try and get our agreement to something we dont want
I also agree that 12 months is a fair length of time to see if it has worked for you and it hasnt but at least you tried it.
