Anyone here had an mri of their back for endo?My consultant has ordered spinal lumbar and spinal thoratic mri as part of a desecion making process on wether to give me a hystectomy.Does an mri show your front as well as your back when ordered for back?Am also having severe pain in back and bladder problems.

yes ... it shows an all over picture of your body in 3d..iv never had one before but my mum has...it shows you areas that you wouldnt be able to see during a normal xray and through operations..xx

It will show all your organs, ligaments as well as bones. I am not sure as to how accurate they are at showing endo lesions though, as this is not gold standard method of assessment. The gold standard is routine laparoscpy.

I had an MRI of my stomach as I've had chronic pelvic pain due to suspected endo for 6 years. It showed I have adenomyosis in my womb causing a blocked junction so I had a Mirena coil fitted n Monday. I hope this helps and good luck for your scan x

Already had a few laps and mirena failed after about a year .
