I saw a Bruce Ramsay at peterborough, he is an endo doc and he gave me a lap to remove endo and a cyst.

Mr Prentice and his doctors at Addenbrookes in Cambridge, he is a surgeon that specialises in endometriosis and treatment of endometriosis. Highly recommended, gave me good quality of life again after months of pain and numerous A&E visits :) xx

May 2011 I had cyst drainage in right ovary (cyst was very deep in ovary). Mr Prentice did not want to remove the cyst completely so could only drain it in case he caused damage and more bleeding to right ovary, as felt he needed to preserve my right ovary as much as possible since he found that my left ovary is very tiny and atrophic and have absent left tube. He pretty much saved my right ovary from destruction from 'mother and daughter' endometrioma measuring 5-6 centimetres, allowing my to keep my fertility

He also did a thorough investigative laparoscopy at time of cyst drainage and discovered endometriosis and small uterus from which he instructed for me to have future tests (MRI scan to measure exact size and also a HSG to see if my right tube is clear).

I was under GA in operating theatre for nearly 3 hours! Was initially going to be and hour and a half - he and his team are very thorough - good for NHS! He prescribed me 3 months of Prostap injections to let my ovary heal up so I wouldn't ovulate. Since the operation and hormone treatment my periods returned from October 2011 - I only needed to use paracetamol for my periods, and then got conceived in January this year. If was not for his decision to be cautious, I might have lost the good ovary I have, therefore would not be expecting a baby today :) xx
