Switching Birth Control?

I’m currently going through further diagnosis, I have been put on a variety of different medications, had multiple scans etc as of current. My doctors are trying to push the idea of switching my implant to the mirena coil (I’ve heard very mixed opinions on this birth control). I have already tried the pill as well.

Has anybody else been in this position, Do I have to switch birth control? Will it be beneficial or am I just being pushed into the idea it will be?

Has anybody had to switch/ already on this and can provide some advice on this please?

Hi.Switching birth control is something doctors love to do. I have spent so much time changing contraception, telling them each time it's not working.

When I finally got so bad that they sent me for investigation the gynecologist and I spoke about it and I said if they found endo during my laparoscopy they could give me the coil at the same time.

I thought that having the medication directly where I needed it might help. Well after a hiatus the pain is back which is the only bit I care about, I'm still bleeding but I like having that knowledge personally.

I will say that loads of people have said it works wonders for them but it's just not for me I guess.

So the main thing is do you want to try it? Don't let them talk you into it with all their medical jargon if you don't want to do it. But if you want to try it go for it. They can take it out again if it doesn't work.

Either way I suggest keeping a diary of your bleeding, cramps and any other symptoms that could be related to your experience, even if just for a few months. I have found that the most effective when talking with doctors. They kinda have to be shown that it's happening all the time at least in my experience.

Good luck with your journey. I hope you get some answers and a solution that works for you x
