I feel so silly still posting in here but also feel I may have been ‘misdiagnosed.’ I’ve struggled with my periods and pelvic pains for nearly 10 years now. I finally got a referral to gynaecology in 2022 after 7 years of going to my GPs and had my surgery on Christmas Eve. Before this I had tried Zoladex for 7 injections which was incredible for my symptoms. Nothing else had ever worked before this. My surgery experience was pretty traumatic (already posted about this so won’t go into it again) and I was told ‘good news, it’s nothing’. Since this I have found out that I have adhesions on my bowel. To me this makes no sense as I have had no past surgeries and there’s no much else that causes these adhesions.
I have my follow up tomorrow evening and would be so grateful if anyone has any suggestions of what I should be asking? Might also be relevant to note that the consultant I’m seeing tomorrow is not the one that done the surgery. He is so busy so they put me with a different consultant. The consultant I’m seeing tomorrow has always said he would be VERY confused if nothing is found as Zoladex cleared my symptoms. So going in to tomorrow, I have no clue what he’s going to suggest. Does anyone know if Zoladex could have shrunk the endo? Thank you

Zoladex can shrink endometriosis I wasn't aware of this when they agreed on my first lap and was negative too. I went private 6 month after stopping zoladex and endo was found. I think they are too quick to do surgery whilst treating with zoladex as a means of discharging you, my private consultant said they should have never done lap under zoladex/so close to stopping. I wish you all the luck with future care
One thing that strikes me about your post is that you are not confident about taking charge of your care. If something doesn't make sense to you, it is absolute ok to say so to your doctor. If you don't understand what is happening, ask. Never, ever be afraid to say to the doctor that you do not understand what is going on. Also don't be afraid to ask them to explain. Doctors speak to other doctors. They use a strange language to each other. They sometimes use that language to us mere mortals. As k them to slow down and speak to you without the ancient Greek and Latin words. Even go as far as to say you nervous and don't know what to ask. Sometimes if they have nurse present ask the nurse to interpret.
It can seem awful push and rude to speak up to a doctor. It isn't. Your care should be a partnership with them. Just talk to them like normal people. Trust me it is easier to talk to your doctor than your plumber once you calm down!
So, here is a suggested starter list. Why did you say that you would be confused if nothing is found since Zoladex has cleared my symptoms? Why am I still having problems? Could it be a mis diagnosis? What other things could be causing my symptoms? I am feeling a little confused, I was told it was nothing but it feel like something, why could that be? Why was I told it was nothing when I still think something is wrong? Have we been looking in the wrong direction? Why do I have adhesions on my bowel, what causes them and how can they be treated? Doctor, what is going on?
