Hi everyone, I am nearly 42 and at the start of my journey - I have just had a scan and am awaiting the results. I was previously diagnosed with endo in 2020 and was treated with the pill for about 9 months which cured all symptoms up until this year. I realise now how lucky I was!
I started with a flare up 2 months ago, the agonising pain continued after my period ended last month (I had 4 pain free days) and it started as soon as I got my next period. I am back on the pill and taking painkillers continually, but still in pain.
I keep looking to endo support groups for some glimmer of hope or light at the end of the tunnel, but I am not seeing much. I feel so sad for everyone suffering and so bleak about what is next for me. I am desperate to get my life back and wondered if anyone has any positive experiences they can share, please?

Hi, it can feel like there is no hope with endo, I remember feeling like that too at the worst of my symptoms. I was diagnosed with endo at 29 after 10 years of increasing pain. I was told surgery wasn't an option for me, only hormone treatment which I didn't get on with. I started exploring other options to manage the condition and found a combination of changing my diet to a more anti-inflammatory one, managing stress, taking supplements and doing some homeopathy made a big difference to my symptoms. It didn't happen quickly and was a gradual process that took years but really helped. Different things work for different people but it's worth exploring some of the options out there and don't lose hope.
I have had 3 surgeries for my endometriosis and also a total hysterectomy with everything removed ovaries, tubes, cervix and uterus and I couldn’t be happier the hysterectomy was the best thing I ever did it was a big decision at 35 but I couldn’t be happier once I got my hrt right I’ve been a new woman. I’ve never heard of surgery not being an option as I’ve only ever been down the surgery route and thankful for it as I had Pmdd so the progesterone only pill was hell for me and the zoladex injections I hated those but hysterectomy and hrt has. Been a Miracle for me so yes it can be solved you just need good surgeons and doctors on your side which takes time but thankfully my journey was pretty short I just went from one surgery to the next and when it wasn’t solved I had the hysterectomy and never looked back 💓 any questions I’m happy to help if I can xx
