Happy Friday everybody. I haven't posted for a while and for that I apologise. Work has been soooo busy and hectic. That aside, I'm genuinely wondering how people are doing.
I had my last surgery in March and had a wobbly recovery but, I have to say, things are definitely improved the last few months. I'm so glad I stuck with it.
I also had a strange query and I have nobody to ask apart from this lovely community! The last few years, I seemed to be susceptible to every cold and flu-type bug going. Since the surgery, I haven't been ill once (I've probably jinxed it now but I'm *so* surprised... I'd get a cold usually at least every 6 - 8 weeks or so). I know there are links with endo and the immune system but I had a feeling this would always be the case even if the endo is (temporarily) removed. Has anyone experienced a better immune system after surgery?
Wishing you all a good weekend and look forward to hearing how you are all doing.

How lovely to ask everyone how they are doing, I LOVE this community, it’s soooo supportive ❤️🌈
I’ve not noticed getting many colds to be truthful, but i never did get many, however, our family shop has left up the COVID Perspex sheet up, not because of COVID, but because we noticed how many spit marks were on it from the customer’s side 🤢 and now us and staff don’t get as many nasty bugs lol
How am I feeling, I had an unusually good few days last week, I can’t say why.
Now I’m not so good, the endo cycle has began, because even though I had a hysterectomy 16 years ago, endo still seems to have a cycle of its own weirdly.
So glad to hear you are well on the road to recovery xx
Well this group has been so helpful to me. You feel less alone when you post here
Maybe there’s no link between the surgery and immune system but I’ll definitely take whatever good health is thrown my way.
Isn’t it frustrating you can never really plan fit endo? good one minute then not the next wish more was known about the condition I know it’s one of those medical mysteries. Oddly enough I work for a big healthcare/pharma org (I’m not a scientist or anything though…if only I were that intelligent!) however we see a lot of patient stories, success stories etc. I do see endo stories pop up now and again so things are researched and investigated. Maybe one day there will be more knowledge in this area …we can hope!!
Hi feeling ok today thsankfully. It is so nice of you to ask.
Could your immune system be better simply because you're not having to put half of your reserves into the endo pain/fatigue, etc? No idea-jist a thought. I'm afraid I can't say from experience as awaiting surgery & don't generally suffer from colds a lot anyway
Yes that’s a thought for sure. Whatever the reason, I’m thankful. I’ve had enough of my fair share of pain over the years. Any idea when your surgery will be? Fingers crossed you get a date soon!
So Endo is now thought in research circles to be very likely an autoimmune issue which means our immune system isn’t behaving as it should. Actively the tissue of Endo produces its own disruptors and hormones - its own mini world. Flaring itself can produce a cold/ flu like symptoms especially at points of tiredness or stress. My glands swell and I run temperatures for a few days. Always a Endo flare.
