hi I have an endometrioma in my right ovary and it causes pain - especially in my hip, any way today the pains so bad that everytime I put my foot down it’s all in my hip and pelvis and where my ovary is. It’s exactly 8 weeks since the pain was like this so probably to do with my cycle but it makes me panic. I guess it can also be the endometriosis anyway and not just the endometrioma. Just wandered if anyone else experiences this.
Thank you

Hi, I don't have an endometrioma, but I recently had surgery where they found my right side and ovary quite badly effected by endometriosis. The first thing my surgeon said to me was do you experience more pain on your right side, and I said yes my hip and leg are agony I can't do anything with them, he told me that endometriosis was the reason why. So yes I believe 100% endometriosis and for you an endometrioma could cause that pain
Yeah I get this too. I don't get it every month thankfully but I'm guessing when I have a flare up that's what is causing it as well as feeling like something is pushing outward from inside my spine iny lower back. So lucky we are to have this evil condition. You have my full empathy! I've just started prostap to try and reduce the symptoms. Had the add back hormones with it but on the second day of taking them I got the worst pulsatile headache ever along with chest pain and throbbing feet so I've stopped the add back. So far I feel ok without add back. Let's hope it calms the Endo! Are you on treatment? Sending love and hugs xx
I also have an Endometrioma in my right ovary, i have a lot of the pains you describe however they are most the month, usually things like driving make it worse, the pain is quite severe at ovulation and start of cycle and I have been prescribed morphine.
I had surgery back in April to remove the 2 endometriomas in and on the right ovary, and excision and was told everything had gone well. However the same pain came back a couple of weeks after resulting in a return to hospital and when they scanned it seems as though the Endometrioma inside the ovary was left there, one of the main reasons for the surgery, I also now have another in my left ovary too. I have been sent for MRI however no follow up since start of May. Also still not had follow up since surgery.
It’s not nice to have, take care and really hope it gets sorted for you x
Mine is all month long to but has been spiking massively - I find driving difficult because of this and also sitting when I’m working etc. I’m waiting for an appointment with gynae on the nhs as I went privately- I’m wandering if I should do an mri scan though
Hi scoops22, yes I had this on my right side too really horrible pain both my ovaries had adhesions so think it was that. I also had endo on uteral sacral ligaments which might have contributed to it. A plug in heat pad really helped me while I was waiting for surgery and now following surgery pain is gone (thank god) best of luck to you and I'd get as many scans as you can. I just had internal ultrasound that just showed a very small cyst ut nothing else xx
I had a 10cm endometrioma on my left ovary and a 20cm on my right ovary. I had a total hysterectomy 4 months ago when they were removed after 2.5 years wait on the NHS for surgery. I had excessive pain. It was never just cyclical. It hurt all the time to the point where I would have to stop when driving, not being able to walk, do yoga and so on. Definately heightened by the time I had my period. During surgery they found out the endometrioma on my left was basically strangling the ovary so would have been really painful when the egg released. My right one was so large that, along with a dropped womb, it pushed on my sciatic nerve and caused sciatica for months. It was agony and made working or day to day life so hard. I had restless legs, hip pain and groin pain on the left side. I am now pain free after having them removed and starting to feel like myself again. It is scary and painful. For me personally the only way to remove the pain was to remove the endometrioma and taking pain medication plus contraceptives to manage it through my period. I also had physio for my hips and sciatica. Sorry you are feeling rubbish with it. Speak to your gyno to see what they can do ❤️
