Bowel cramps?

I had a laparoscopy about 9 weeks ago. I had endometrioma's removed from my ovaries, lots of adhesions removed from right pelvic wall and endometriosis removed from surface of the bowel. I'm presuming it was excised but I won't know for sure until I see my consultant in two weeks. My question is, is it normal to still be having bowel cramps? They can be very painful and last a few hours or come on very quickly and go just as fast. I also am getting pain around my midriff and it can be uncomfortable and my tummy feels hard.

It would be great to hear from anyone whose had a similar experience.

Thanks.

hun I had excision surgery two weeks ago for removal of endo this time round as had to have coleractal team as well to unstick my ovary’s unstick my rectum from my uterus and to remove endo from my obliterated pouch of Douglas. I’m still feeling a pulling sensation and am feeling sick with the pain. I have had to use laxido to kick start my bowel as was really sluggish. I’m not getting the symptoms of diarrhea at present but im beginning to get really constipated and it’s back up in rectum even though they did a sigmoidoscopy to check how my rectum was at the end of surgery. Am drinking plenty but just to let you know the painful bowel cramps are coming back and I’m highly constipated and even with the laxido am still blocked up . The relief from

Surgery was I could pee larger amount s but unfortunately that has gone back to being stop start and my bowel has gone back to prior surgery. Where I’m that constipated I’m nearly passing out on the toilet as can’t push it out. :( so just to let you know. Your not alone xxxxx

Hope you're feeling better soon. I'm 9 weeks post surgery so was expecting any post surgery symptoms to have settled. It's never ending. X

Hun depending on severity even if visible removed by excision some could have got left behind or the cells still in blood or built into the muscles that can’t be seen so unfortunately even if it gets a bit better pain wise chances are it could be starting to grow all back again. This is the thing with endo some people have relief for a while others may get a snippet of relief but if it’s more nerve related hence the pain still. Also your body not only has to heal on the outside it has to heal in the inside which can take three to six months or even longer up to a year to fully heal inside hence referred pain so basically you have to heal inside out which can take time lovely x

Sorry to hear you are going through this, I am in similar situation as you…I got endo excision surgery Aug 2023(endo removed from ovaries, pouch of douglas and uterus) and was severely constipated after surgery. I had rectum pain even before surgery and it did not get better after surgery but pain during periods in lower abdomen which was unbearable was gone after surgery. After surgery there was pain during ovulation and lot of pull and would know which ovary is releasing egg but this got better after couple of months of using daily fruit and vegetable smoothies(kale or arugula or spinach+parsley+banana+pineapple+radish). I also have IBS symptoms so elimination diet helped with that to figure out some fruits like apple, blueberries, beets and some other fruits are not suitable for me. These days figured pineapple is causing issue as well so replaced it with cucumber in daily smoothie.

Also I am diagnosed with H.Pylori in Dec so was on antibiotic triple therapy after which my constipation got way worse. This might be be because all good bacteria(probiotic) got wiped out. So started taking probiotic supplements but that caused abdomen pain but constipation issue got better… stopped these and started using yogurt or buttermilk… right now feeling little better with constipation but there is still rectum pain and inflammation pain after ovulation for a week and other symptoms(every day is different😊)… hope you get some information from my experience and manage your symptoms. I also drink celery juice in the morning and some times drink turmeric juice for inflammation pain.
