So i had my appointment with my consultant the other day where he found what hes 99% sure is endometriosis and a chocolate cyst, and yesterday i got my date for surgery! it is on the nhs but i was referred to a private hospital as all the wait times are so bad, so i think i got extremely lucky that my date is exactly two months away!
with two months to go, is there any advice anyone has, not necessarily things like what to bring as im not super focussing on that just yet even though i have a huge list already of what im going to get in preparation, but just like anything you wish you knew before surgery? anything i can do to help prepare myself, or anything like that with only two months to go? im not sure if that makes sense but anyways, any advice or tips are appreciated!!
I also have my brother's wedding two days before so im hoping to not be hungover the day before my surgery 🥲
also i vape and am extremely addicted to nicotine and i know this wont help healing, is a big risk for blood clots and stuff and am hoping to try start to quit but im just so scared to as its a coping mechanism and a calming thing for me, and quitting is scary. has anyone else had the surgery as a smoker/vaper?
and i have a lot of piercings, nipples and 7 facial piercings, my surgeon said i should be able to keep retainers in, and if i cant i know my bridge and two middle eyebrow piercings will close up and im really hoping that i can keep plastic retainers in like i did for my MRI, so does anyone with those types of piercings who have had surgery have any advice on that?
Thanks so much <3
