I had my laparoscopy 2 months ago and have had 3 periods since and they have been so painful and causing constipation one minute and then diarrhoea the next!
My fatigue has improved slightly (I have upped my vitamin D) and trying to eat better. I am also really struggling with my weight. I am a vet nurse so am on my feet all day so don’t consider myself not active and I try to eat healthy but I feel hungry all the time! Is this an Endo thing? I have started taking chromium supplements as they are supposed to help with hunger but so far so difference! I feel starving all the time and just keep gaining weight. I do also take sertraline so not sure if this is the problem.
Sorry for long post.

Hi, looking at the Sertraline side effects I see “ abnormal appetite” is a common one -I guess it can go either way -hungry or not hungry? ? It has also been shown to cause a slight weight gain, Have you been on it long, and is this something you have only noticed since being on it?
I think you maybe have enough to worry about without trying to lose weight but I get that you are trying to avoid putting on more. You need to make sure you get enough to eat at meals though, of protein, slow release carbs and things like veg and pulses to fill you up and keep you going.
It’s a good idea to try and keep your blood sugar stable and avoid highs and then lows, when you will feel both tired and hungry. I think maybe chromium is meant to help with this? That is just from memory. Make sure you drink plenty too, not always easy when you are on the go at work.
Sorry I can’t comment on the laparoscopy, did you have excision at the same time? If you are still having problems, worth contacting the Gynae department again for advice.
Thank you for your reply. I hadn’t thought about the sertraline! I’ve been on it for over 6 months I think. Will try not to worry too much and I am trying to drink more and eat healthier foods! X
