Mirena Coil

Hey all, I have an appointment tomo with my NHS gyne. He's going to see if he'll be able to fit the mirena coil 'normally' or wether it'll have to be done with some sort of guidance as i have a tilted uterus.

Feels like my health has just plummeted since Christmas and I'm in extreme pain daily. Worried about my right ovary as it's swelling visibly, feels like a heartbeat sensation and I'm having sporadic bleeds.

Just hope all goes well tomo, hopefully I'm able to have the mirena fitted and it brings some relief. If he says he can't fit it 'normally' I don't know wether to push for surgery and have it fitted then. It's been just over 3 years since my first surgery. I don't really want to have another one again this soon as I'm only 23 but I'm almost certain if they was to do another lap, endo would be found again.

Is there anything I should know about having mirena fitted, any questions I should ask? Do you think I should push for another surgery if it can't be fitted 'normally'?

Many thanks, Fay x

I am on my sixth mirena coil I think and every one has been so painful I too have a tilted uterus I took painkillers etc Everytime but dreadful. Other people have been ok with it I have Adenomyosis too though. The last one I had under spinal with hystoscopy and that was fine as I was out of it. Hope you have a better experience but remember lots of people have anaesthetic for the fitting of it so don't be scared to say if it's too much.

Thanks for responding, I appreciate it. Do you mind me asking, when you have a hystocopy, where do they inject the anesthetic?

I had a spinal which wasn't as bad as an epidural but I would push for the general as it's a bit uncomfy or was for me as my discs are closed together. X
