I had bloods done few weeks ago and one of them the levels are raised so the gynaecologist is seeking advice from an oncologist Whats does that mean ?

Any advice is appreciated

If it is a CA125 then this is a very non-specific test. I don’t know why it was done but it’s not a test for suspected endo. It can be raised with endo , inflammation and even with fluctuations during the menstrual cycle . When used for cancer it is usually for monitoring known cancer and again not a reliable diagnostic test so I’d try not to worry.

do you know which one was raised? I was referred to oncology last year due to enlarged lymph nodes and my ca125 was higher (apparently often is in Endo sufferers). I was terrified but they’ve left it that they weren’t immediately concerned and its to be closely monitored.

I did find the 2 week cancer pathway worked very efficiently (once the GP finally made referral).

Best wishes to you, it’s a worrying time but at least they’re being thorough. ❤️
