Following my previous post, I have large endometrioma cysts on both sides and my ca 125 test came back sky high so my doctor did the 2 week urgent referral for gyno cancer to the hospital last week - she did say the ca 125 is likely because of the endometriosis but they have to refer to rule other stuff out and it is looking like its now got to surgery stage level (which is baffling to a degree as i keep replaying all the times ive gone to the doctors over the years with cysts and pains and been told it is normal and never checked out but now its progressed they are finally acknowledging it). I appreciated the information and referral then 2 days later I got a text to say a gyno specialist from the hospital would call me Monday to go through my 'symptoms'. I don't know if its normal to be called and anxious because I don't want to get fobbed off. I am in pain daily bleed daily I just want some help. I have spent years of my life tolerating pain because its always been dismissed and I'm worried now that I am having a call opposed to a face to face appointment that I will not be taken seriously over the phone. I am hoping that regardless my high levels and scan will atleast warrant some sort of action plan.

Hi there.
I know it can be hard not to worry and think the worst, but the NHS does phone patients for a variety of reasons. Try and be clear and assertive with your symptoms and the impact it is having on you. If you are worried maybe write down what you want them to know and make sure you say what you plan to. Good luck. X
