just had my results back after 3 weeks and I have to go back for another pelvic scan at the end of this month. Dr said I have fluid between ovaries and back what could this be. She wasn’t very helpful.
For background- heavy bleeding, large clots, extreme pain during period and pain when having sex.
Thank you

hey! So I thing I’ve had something similar. I went for a TVUS and the report said I had a ‘moderate amount of free pelvic fluid’. They send me back for another scan 4 weeks later and it’s still there. Notes said the GP should check for PID but my swabs came back clear. Still waiting for a follow up appointment but assuming it might be linked to Endo ? ( although when you Google it’s hard to find a lot of info on info on whether it’s a sign)
my mum works in a hospital and spoke to dr there. He said this - The fluid they are likely to be referring to will be what's called "free fluid" sitting between the organs in her pelvis (womb, ovaries, bladder). It's a reasonably common abnormal finding on pelvic scans. It is not specific to any one condition but suggests some inflammation in the area. One of the causes could be endometriosis but the list is rather long. The repeat scan will be to see if it resolves in time. Ultimately, I think the right thing is for referral to pelvic pain clinic. And swabs which like you came back clear xx
