You won't get an appointment for this as emergency I had ovary pain once and all they did is swabs you have to be really hard done by to get a scan they will tell you to go to g.p but you will be waiting you can try a and e but no guarantee or wether it will even show on scan
Whether or not this is endo related is likely to depend on your individual history, what stage you are and whether you were adequately treated at your lap. Severe endo most usually affects the left side and left ovary. If that should be the case it could be adhesions. The pain from a burst cyst can be extreme but usually subsides. But if your ovary pain is or gets severe and unrelenting please call 111 as ovarian torsion must be immediately excluded as it would be an emergency. I should let your instincts guide you and please seek medical attention if you are concerned and in severe pain.
How i was diagnosed in May 2020- Fount that i have a cyst on right ovary on May 10.
And then within a few days i had sharp severe pain and was rushed to ER. Scans revealed Ovarian torsion and i was operated immediately. It was laparotomy- that is when doctors realised i have endo stage 3.
Thanks a lot for your guidance, i will continue to monitor my pain and see if i need to to go to ER.
But again- can we go to any scan center and get an USG done? Am actually new to UK so asking such ques.
You can't go to a scan centre but the process here is to ring 111 and they will probably advise you to go to A and E if it is considered an emergency. Or you can go straight to A and E at your local hospital. With your history of severe endo and ovarian torsion please ring 111 and be sure to tell them you were recently operated on for ovarian torsion and have pain again.
With regard to your stage 3 endo this is classed as severe and you now need referring to a specialist endo centre. This is in tertiary care and is reserved for highly specialised cases which severe endo is classed as. There doesn't seem to be a lot of knowledge on here as to how to be referred so will pm you. Take care but please do seek medical attention. x
Keep checking for cancellations, maybe your GP can see about it sooner. But do seek medical help if your pain gets worse as has been suggested and that your GP refers you to a BSGE centre. You can check on the website to see where that is.
I had an MRI for 26th and within a couple of days got this changed to this Saturday. People often duck out of tests especially at the moment.
Thank you so much everone for your responses, I've visited A&E today, I was actually hoping they would do an emergency ultrasound but as my pain was bearable they ran some tests and said I'll be called soon for a scan.
But they did get me checked by a gynaec so that was helpful
She said it's ovarian disorder and mostly a cyst but yes considering my history they want to rule out asap if there's any torsion.
It was on my left ovary (left pelvic area), they suspected cyst and ovarian disorder but as the pain was bearable they sent me home and didn't do a scan. I've an ultrasound scheduled on 5th November.
