Who got their scan results at the scan appointment and who had to go to their GP for results?
I’m having a trans vaginal scan on Wednesday and my GP told me it’s highly unlikely anyone will discuss the results with me there and then and that I’ll need to see my GP two weeks later!
Just wondering what everyone else’s experiences were....
Thanks

I was told the same and it said so on my appointment letter. It was just a standard ultrasound I had though. They spoke to me about everything they saw on the scan and I then made an appointment with the GP to discuss it.
Nothing really, trans vaginal scan and ultrasound showed nothing, I think I was told I had a larger womb but I might have imagined that. Pushed for a lap a year later and that found nothing either x
I had a tv ultrasound and the sonographer told me everything looked normal as she was doing it, but that there was a ‘shadow’ which was likely trapped gas. When I next went to the gp she said the same. Sounds like it just depends where you get it done! Good luck!
Hiya. I had one with a consultant radiologist and she told me straight away due to her level of expertise. When I had one with sonographer I said what are the results and they said sorry can’t discuss that with you, the consultant will when you see him. It’s due to them having to leave it to the dr’s to interpret so they may not tell you there and then. Xx
I had 2 and the first one they said nothing during the scan and had to wait to see my GP but they rang like 2 days after my scan so it was fairly fast. My second scan was 6 weeks later and they commented on what they could see but said they didn't know what the significance of it was so again I only waited a couple of days and I was told to make an appointment to see my go again. X
It's standard in the UK for the scanning team not to provide results - it goes back to the GP or specialist who referred you for interpretation. That said if you get the right person, it's a repeat scan and you give them enough info they sometimes do confirm what you already know.
Hi I had transvaginal scan on NHS and was told that I had to wait fo my results. A year later I had a private scan an was told my results straight away infact the consultant was talking me through everything. good luck with yours
I think it depends on the experience of the person performing the scan. I have a trans v ultrasound booked in for the 23rd Sept but couldn't get appt to see my gyno until 5th Nov to discuss the results so I am hoping I have someone experienced doing my scan that will share some details with me.
