Should I be worried?..

Hi guys, I seen my gynae consultant on Friday 22nd March, it was agreed then I’d get a pelvic MRI die to worsening bowel symptoms. The thing is I got an appointment through to go for scan on Monday 1st April in the evening. It seems so quick for the NHS especially Monday being a bank holiday? She didn’t mention any concerns regarding cancer but to get an MRI as soon as a week seems so fast?? I’m worried it’s something serious. Please let me know your thoughts, has anyone else had this quick a service with their local NHS?

From my experience with stage 4 bowel Endo, I think whenever there has been a worsening of bowel symptoms the scan has been done urgently.

It’s the waiting around afterwards, sometimes for weeks on end that’s infuriating.

I did have a cancer scare last year after an urgent mri showed lymphadenopathy, this is now having to be monitored periodically.

best wishes to you ❤️

There’s a good chance you got a cancellation or they were able to add a clinic.

Try not to read too much into it at the moment.

I managed to get an ultrasound same day and that was during covid.

We worry when we don’t get quick enough service, we worry when it happens fast. Phew. Maybe it’s simply we are worried and anxious whatever and instead let’s lean in together and surround you with support. It’s okay to feel frightened and feel we have little choice- that’s very real. They’ve got you an appt and soon there will be information for you to be able to process and for them to be able to respond to. They will have concerns but you may also just have struck the rainbows pot of gold on this one. Tomorrow will bring forward steps , today brings all the love and calm you can allow from everyone around you. Never alone x

Thank you so much for such a kind message, you’ve brought a wee tear to my eye 🥲. It’s so true we’ve all spend months, sometimes years waiting to be seen and be listened to. It’s the unknown that’s always scary but I guess whatever the find or don’t find then we’ll know. Thanks again for your kindness, it’s really appreciated. I hope you’re having a low pain Sunday 💛 xx
