Does anyone know if endometriosis can cause you to vomit after eating?

For 4 years I have been unable to keep food down it's now effected my weight ( I am now anorexic) I ask this because my sister in law said that endometriosis can cause my trouble, but I want more clarification on it.

Hi. I have often thrown up, but that is usually because the pain is so great that my temperature shoots up and that overtaxes my system. I guess theoretically it could happen, but I would speak to your GP if you haven't done so already and ask for an endoscopy and referral to gastroenterology, as well as to gynae if it happens when you are in endo pain. Sorry to hear you are suffering so much. I hope you find some help and relief soon. X

I had trouble eating when my bowel endo was really bad. I tried to stick to soups and smoothies to keep my nutrition up.

I still vomit now if my period is due, if I've exerted myself with my one office day a week, or if I've eaten too much/gotten to day 3 of constipation.

Pain killers can also contribute to a slower digestive system.

hun I started to have really bad nausea and sickness a couple of years back now when I was in excruciating pain. Thankfully now I have anti nausea meds and anti diarrhea meds if needed am having a bowel resection in ten weeks as have frozen pelvis and die all around my bowel and lots of fibrous bands of tissues and adhesions. I lost a lot of weight when I was being sick and was like I continually sick for ten days solid and had to be admitted to hospital as I was dehydrated as couldn’t keep fluid or food down. They accused me of being pregnant and I said how can I be pregnant when I have not got a bf or evening having relations with anyone . There protocol was to check if I was pregnant and I wasn’t. They were going to do endoscopy as I had had two consecutive months where I was continuing to be sick for around ten days at a time until they did put me on a different anti sickness and if I so feel sick I can take a tablet and then can feel better with in a few hours. But quite often I feel sick and have to lye down. Maybe ask for a mri or scans to be sure what is causing you to be sick. If it’s been going on for so long no wonder you have lost weight. The anti nausea I take is one they give to cancer patients as it’s a better one if you do have die of your bowel . Thankfully when they told me last year after lap the reason for my symptoms severe endo deep infiltration of the bowel and possible other organs no wonder I was being ill so much but when I was admitted to hospital they would put me under the care of some general doc and not gynecologist specialist so they were looking at me and dealing with me with the wrong doctors to begin with. You do need a scan or mri and get an endo specialist to look at scans as they are better equipped and more knowledgeable. Also ask you doctor for anti nausea medication so you can actually start to eat properly again. As another person has said when you also feel like this just try soups and things that slip down but also don’t overload your body either if the organs are distorted that can be a reason for sickness as they are not functioning properly. Take care x

Hi, thank you for reply. Sorry you have had to endure so much and the continue of it all.

I have had endoscopy, colonoscopy and 2 breathe tests, I have gone through multiple different anti sickness meds, non worked so they have scrapped it completely.

Dietetics team have referred me back to the gp and now they have referred me back tk gastroenterology.

Gynaecology discharged me 2 years ago because they removed the endo and said it won't come back ( I knew differently ofc)

How do I get admitted to get fluids? Every single day I am sick and I'm severally dehydrated to the point of feeling faint and light headed all the time. No way I can just rack up and say I need IV fluids, please as I'm severally dehydrated but can't keep anything down 😅.

aww hun you need an urgent referral back to endo specialist and explain your symptoms what part of the country are you in ? As endo grows back if they haven’t cut it all away sounds like deep endo to me. How can someone say to you it is all gone and won’t regrow. Also go to your gp and say I’m not well enough is enough I need fluids. Or if I was that dizzy and I’ll get someone to take me to a and e and wait to be seen but your not allowed to do that now without speaking to 111 or gp which is silly but the rules are the rules . I really hope you get answers very soon xx

I'm from South Yorkshire. I have been going nearly every week. I was only there yesterday about this issue. I told her how dizzy and faint I am always feeling and that no matter how much i drink i an dehydrated, but nothing just referred me back to n the gastroenterology team. 😮‍💨

aww.no hun I’m

So sorry 😢 hun I think they are looking in all the wrong area could you see if you could get a mri of pelvis also another lady on here I can’t remember what her name is she gave a few of us a link to another gynecology group which showed where all the bsge registered endometriosis teams are located in the country also could you maybe change gp practices for me to get my diagnosis I went through a lot channels and advocating for myself until they got fed up and I actually saw a gp rather than a nurse practitioner who referred me to gynecologist and then took a locum to speak to gynecology to book me in for an emergency lap to get to the bottom of pain and bleeding sickness and other things. Also took me moving house as well to get to the right department. You so need a second opinion could you not see another doctor at your practice ? I think it also took me and my parents literally taking me to a and e as I had a horrible feeling and full feeling as I couldn’t pass urine properly but nothing was done really just checked for uti s until I was at breaking point .
