I wanted to ask if anyone still has active endometriosis after non medically induced menopause.
I’m 53 and post menopause for nearly 4 years.
got diagnosed formally with both endometriosis and adenomyosis
Peri menopause for 10 years before periods finally finished. I was taking the conti HRT patches for 3 years before the nasty doctor rammed down my throat that it was my fault I still have pain as I insisted on staying on the HRT!
I’m now in no man’s land with out the HRT. Still having endo pain although not every day. But just some symptoms of menopause are back not as severe. The local gps are rubbish here and are clueless in women’s health. I’ve counted 11 doctors in total I’ve seen so far. All claim to be endometriosis ‘Specialists’ is anyone else coping well with the next stage of all of this??
Can anyone recommend something else for me to try
Quit all alcohol 2 years now. I’ve given up dairy and reduced the gluten. Taken up weight training. Bought a dog to walk the hell out of him.
Am I missing something or is this it??

Hi , sorry you are dealing with this. I am 54 and have stage 4 with lrg endometrioma on ovaries which are stuck to surface of cervix stump ( previously had a partial hysterectomy to remove uterus) No idea if I have been through menopause and Drs say they don’t know either . I am due to have surgery to remove ovaries. I have looked into minimizing the affects of menopause and it sounds like you are doing the right thing. Do you follow Louise Newson ( balance app) or Kate Rowe ham ( fitter, calmer , stronger bk)
Hi, I haven't been through menopause but am on the waiting list for endo excision & a hysterectomy with ovary removal. My understanding is endo can continue post menopause due to being able to produce its own hormones. HRT wise, I've spoken with 2 menopause nurses, endo nurse, endo specialist & all are saying that HRT is fine with endo, but you need to be on continuous progesterone alongside the estrogen to help prevent it from growing back/spreading, which it looks like you've been on. Have you had excision surgery? Could be possible some was left behind & has continued to spread. Or perhaps you could ask to try a lower dose of estrogen alongside Utrogestan (progesterone) to help with the menopause symptoms? I also found the Davina McCall documentaries very useful, & the endo menopause webinars on EndoUK, which also suggests a couple of non HRT alternatives which apparently can help with some individual symptoms. Sorry I can't be of more help!
