I have Crohn’s Disease and have had three surgeries about 15 years ago.
During IVF I was told I had endometriomas on my left ovary. These have been a nightmare for years now. Every specialist says they would usually remove these surgically but due to my Crohn’s surgeries no one will commit to helping. All I’ve been offered is birth control and pain medication - birth control just isn’t for me as they really impact my mental health.
Where do I go from here?
Do I just soldier on daily or do I try to find a Gynae team who will work with a Gastro team to operate?
And is anyone at Birmingham Women’s Hospital who would recommend them as I’m thinking of asking to go there as my Gastro team are at Birmingham?

I’d have thought a BSGE joint Gynae/colorectal team would be more willing to operate. If you look at either the BSGE or hospital site one of them should say if they do a joint op at Birmingham. It gets very difficult at times to get enthusiasm from drs. Hope you are successful
Luckily it’s only about 6 weeks, I’m glad I chased it up now!
Yeah I can only take certain pain killers with me having Crohn’s as well. I just think I’m such a complicated case that no one wants to really help me anywhere
We have to be proactive with healthcare these days. It’s good that you’ve got it sorted 😀
You’ve got conditions that they only have some info, they probably know a bit more about Crohns than Endo but still mainly guess work in dealing with it.
