I am in the process of applying for PIP (my 2nd time- awarded 0 on everything last time, but I have much more backing from health professionals this time). Every time I go to fill in the form an invisible wall appears and I just don't know where to start. All the information is in my head its just getting it down on paper.
For each applicable descriptor do you repeat the same wording each time to cover the condition and how it links to the difficulties in carrying out each activity
I currently receive ESA and on that form there was a space which allowed you to give a general overview to begin with, but not with this one. All it allows you to list is your conditions (date commenced), medications (& side effects) and treatments each in a box.
I have form for over three weeks and it's completely overwhelming me and affecting everyday life now, just because i have this stupid mental block in how i think it should be presented (symptomatic of conditions I have other than Endo: Anxiety, depression, significant ocd, Suspected Autism), severe fatigue, brain fog, b12 deficiency, hot flushes!)
TIA XXX

I will. It’s my Gp who actually blocked me from getting it …. They wrote that I am not sick and suffer from headaches. ….. which I was shocked to see when Pip made their decision based on medical evidence ….. I am in the process of complaining to NHS . I will send it over the weekend. …
That's totally shocking on your gp's part hope when you've sorted them out and got what you should have in the first place, you change Drs.If you would show me what you've done even just to set me on the right track it would be so much appreciated
shocking I applied and I’m rubbish with words , I appealed but like you didn’t really have all the paperwork at the time to back much up . I gave up they bascialy said just because you have a health condition means nothing ,.
Wow but it affects everything I’m bed bound usualy one a month for days but that didn’t matter , fatigue energy levels , stess , I know can’t attend medical appointments without melt downs x
You could consider making an appointment with your local Citizens Advice Bureau they can help you complete the form - my sister did this for other health stuff and found it really useful.
Sorry to hear that, demand clearly is outstripping supply of the advisors. Is it worth still booking an appointment with them or do you have a deadline? You mentioned you had other health issues definitely make sure you add those to the form you may get more points from those aspects than the endometriosis ironically! I'm not an expert on these things I just know bits from what my sister has gone through over the years. There are online calculators where you can see how many points you might score on the basis of the assessments. Might be worth looking at those?
On the Citizens Advice website there is info about the forms including how the points are awarded so maybe that would help?
hun I’m like you been waiting nearly two years for my austism assesment I have other things as well . When I was under the mental health team they help me write the forms as I like you had applied and didn’t get it and then I applied again with there help and not just my mum helping that helped. For them to give you pip you literally have to write the worst case scenario you have to tell them that on your worst day you struggled to walk out of bed as you were low you needed someone to remind you and prompt you to wash and dress and that with your mental health that you find it hard to budget and that you need help to go shopping for food or that you hate leaving the house with out someone assisting you. Before when I wasn’t awarded it and I was struggling significantly I wouldn’t leave the house and I had months and months of work as I couldn’t function properly as I just told them my good days and not my worst day they don’t get a clear picture. It is hard to receive pip and then after three years you have to meet up with the benefits people for them to review your needs ok. Hope this helps.
