I’ve been put on Ryeqo which apparently is quite new in the UK. My GP is concerned that my consultant has been me on this due to increased blood clot risk, increased chance of breast cancer- loads of other things that all sound scary. I have to let them know before I go on a flight?? All a bit overwhelming- is anyone else on this medication and had a similar experience??

Hi, I'm taking Ryeqo at the moment. My consultant said that as I didn't have any of the risk factors, which could increase the likelihood of a blood clot, that it was safe for me to take. I haven't heard anything about the increased risk of breast cancer but I would imagine that the level of risk is the same for most hormonal treatments unless there's something in your medical history or family's history that puts you at a higher risk of developing it.
Have you started taking it? I know from my own experience that it can feel really overwhelming when you start a new treatment. It doesn't help that Ryeqo is still relatively new so there isn't much information out there.
