Umbilical Endometriosis surgery

Hello! I’m a new member with long-term umbilical endometriosis.

I’m going to see a surgeon tomorrow (the fourth one I’ve seen now - loooong story), but he is in the colorectal department. I’ve been reading up on some bellybutton surgeries for endo, but most of them seem to have been performed by a gynaecologist. I spoke to the nurse in the department and she said she didn’t think a gynaecologist would touch it so I’m a bit confused.

Just wondering if anyone else with umbilical endometriosis who had surgery where the bellybutton was completely removed, what kind of surgeon performed it? And did anyone go the plastic surgery route for reconstruction as this was recommended to me in the past?

Thanks for any info, I had a really bad experience with a passive aggressive general surgeon a few weeks ago so have lost all faith in the system!
