I’ve had a complaint in with GMC for a long time, it was about not having the hysterectomy with colorectal involvement which meant I had to have a further op for bowel adhesions as they were left.
It turns out the GMC don’t feel it’s at all dangerous to have to have an operation and quite happy for patients to have numerous when one, if organised properly, could be sufficient!
That’s my take on their decision in siding with the surgeon! 🙄🤔
Who needs to sign their life away with consent! 🤦♀️😂 it’s a crazy world! Doesn’t help the patient at all

hi moon_maiden sorry to hear that, what a rubbish outcome for you. You would think having 1 operation opposed to having 2 would save the NHS time and money.
Bless you moon maiden. so sorry to hear you did not get the outcome you deserved when no doubt you jumped through hoops just to be heard! so familiar. Take care
Hun this is me I asked for a hysterectomy as I don’t want children as have probably autism level one and with all my sensory issues I wouldn’t cope. I have severe bowel involvement I was told by consultant I can’t have both together due to the high risk of infection with both those ops done. So he only reason is they don’t want the bowel leaking into the womb and if it did could get really poorly. After my emergency lap back in April I got sepsis as this isn’t normal for keyhole but I did so worried about further operations but I can see it by he doesn’t want to risk doing both.
I hope you aren’t getting too many problems at the moment, did they go back in and sort bowel?
I was told by consultant and secretary three weeks before they were booking longer a lot and having colorectal as joint op. If they had I wouldn’t have had extra surgery to remove bowel adhesions.
Am still waiting for the surgery have just had mri so that will tell them what to do next. My bowel symptoms and feeling sick 🤢 all the time is on going and they said probably won’t have surgery until next year as the wait they said was around a year
I always request a copy of scan reports, I’m very nosey that way.
I take Metoclopramide for nausea, works really well. Might be worth a try.
Your GP might be able to speed up surgery, that’s a ridiculous wait time. Let them know if you can do cancellations/short notice. Suggest getting pre op done just in case. It’s these sort of things that can help.
I take ondasetron for nausea which is a lot stronger than metacolprimide I take this as it’s better for my bowels as when was on the metacloprimide with my symptoms of having the runs alot of the time doc said try ondasetron as it binds the bowel as well. The ones I’m on are extremely expensive as well and they give ondasetron to cancer patients. I will see what my results are I did ring up and I said am extremely anxious and just want to know the results. The consultants secretary was like the consultant will write to you. I may get In touch with doc as I really can’t go on the way I’m going as it’s just so difficult to work like I am. But then on the other hand I’d rather save money up. Now for the bills as when am off only get state pay and is like 100 or less a week but at present take home pay a month is over 1000 and as it’s just me I would prefer to work as much as I can to save before op even though I live in the toilet or seems like it. X
Ask the hospital for a copy of your records, there should be a form on the website. They are allowed 28 days but you’ll see far more info.
The more I hear on this disease the more like cancer it is, I really think it’s more a type of cancer than not. They now say the cells act like cancer cells and research with cancer drugs.
Completely understand about work, I haven’t worked properly for several years, I do miss it. Are you in the UK? Have you made a claim for PIP?
sorry to hear that. The NHS is falling apart and the word cock up and NHS go hand in hand. My son was fighting for his life In hospital with sepis because GP didn't diagnose him properly my daughter in law is now fighting for her life literally because the NHS didn't remove her gall bladder and instead had lighted all her pain/symptoms and fat shaming her as that is what the NHS love to do best. As for the care she is receiving you may as well have R2D2 do the rounds for how little human compassion there is... It's not all hospitals but this one she is staying is a place you wouldn't send your dog. NHS make huge cock ups whether it's just health or life threatening. But you bet no one is made to be accountable they all stick together like crap. The sooner the NHS goes private the better.
I hope your daughter gets better soon. Has she had thyroid tested thoroughly? That could easily be a reason if she’s overweight, we know how bad hormones can be.
Completely agree and so sorry you’ve gone through so much. After an operation the care is non existent these days, turf us out before you can blink. They stick together far too much. It’s why we keep getting crisis happening and horrendous cases appearing.
I hope your son has recovered ok, although he’ll always have to be careful with infection.
Apart from mega stressed how are you feeling from Endo?
