just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for consultants in the East Midlands area? My daughter is possibly needing a laparoscopy and we’re prepared to go private in order to get results. I had years of endo myself before going through the menopause so have experience 😢

Hi, l am sorry but we are not allowed to refer each other to specific gynae consultants, but l wish you well on your journey to full health. Maybe contact your favourite GP at your surgery and they will get you a consultation arranged,

I’m not from East Midlands but maybe look at BSGE centres around there so you can make sure the consultant you choose is an endometriosis specialist
I was referred to Mr Kumar through the NHS. He works for the University Hospitals Birmingham so Heartlands, Good Hope, Solihull etc. But he is also private under spire which is where I am now seeing him. His waiting list for NHS is very long as he is highly sought after for gynae and oncology which is annoying but obviously worth it. I was told I needed the operation to have 2 endometriomas removed 2 weeks ago but with me as the highest priority (behind oncology patients) I would be waiting a year on the NHS for an operation date. But I contacted Spire for a quote and my operation is booked in for just over 2 weeks time. He's extremely knowledgeable, reassuring and friendly.Fingers crossed for your daughter getting it sorted soon xx
