Hi, I'm suffering terribly, diagnosed a couple of years ago and I've had a mirena coil fitted, hrt analogue injections, which I could only have for 6 months due to the damage they can do. I'm constantly bleeding, nothing seems to stop it and I'm in pain many days. I went away a couple of weekends ago and was ok, but on return I'm having a terrible bout, and am due away on 2 weeks for 2 weeks with family and I desperately need something from gp to stop bleeding. I'm waiting for surgery but despite losing 5.5 stone, I've been told to lose a further two!! I feel like.im being fobbed off and shouldn't have to live like this, plus the amount of money I'm spending on tampax is ridiculous. Any advice to juat stop the bleeding would be really gratefully appreciated x

Help! Constant bleeding!!
have you tried norithsterone? It’s a period delay pill that you can take up to 3 times a day. Not sure if efficacy for everyone but maybe worth a discussion with your GP
GP prescribed me tranexamic acid to stop bleeding. You take it for 3-4 days and bleeding will stop.
I have had horrible abdominal pain and bleeding for few weeks after I had Mirena fitted.. GP refused to remove it 😡 Thankfully Mirena fell out itself 😁 and my abdominal pain stopped. 💛
I second tranexamic acid. It has reduced my bleeding to a near normal amount. I also stopped using contraception against advice. My periods immediately went back to a regular cycle instead of a constant flow - before that I had bled for 26 weeks with only a two week gap in the middle.
I know they recommend mirena to everyone that has laparascopic surgery, but I refused that because the body has been through so much trauma already, I can't for the life of me understand why adding an alien object to the affected area would help. I'm certain my body would have rejected it and potentially caused more damage, but that's just my opinion. If it's not working for you I would consider other options. All the best x
