Wait time for ‘urgent’ referral

Good Evening,

So I have just attended my first GP appointment since my ultrasound. Due to severe adhesions the doctor is doing an urgent referral to gyno(I’m in bedfordshire). I was just wondering how long any of you may have waited for an appointment.

I waited 6 months from my referral for my appointment last year but not sure if it will be longer or quicker for you. Hopefully quicker since its urgent! x

When mine was urgent I was only waiting around 3 to 4 weeks. Otherwise it might have been over a year. Hope you get seen quickly. Sending you a big hug too x

At my local hospital, an urgent referral is between 2-4 weeks. My advice is keep a note of the date of your GP appt as that’s the date they referred you. If you don’t hear anything by 4-weeks, ring your local hospital and chase them up. PALS were really good for helping me as they do a lot of the chasing for you.
