Hello,

Just wondering if anyone has had a successful pregnancy with stage 4 endometriosis, without any surgery to treat it?

Any information greatly appreciated, just looking for a little hope 💫😊

Thank you 🙏

Hi Amelia1984, I am in a similar position to yourself. Stage 4 and trying to get pregnant.... for the last 6 years. I guess it depends on where the endo is. I know that one of my tubes may be blocked at the top, the other at the moment seems clear, that I am stuck to my back wall and that my ovaries are kissing (only found out about the ovary situation recently!). Lucklily I do seem to ovulate and I have regular cycles. The biggest obstacle I have by told by gynae is the kissing ovaries. I am hopeful with surgery this will increase my chances of a natural pregnancy. Apparently the kissing ovaries can cause issues with the egg being able to get down the tube. Maybe you have a similar issue being stage 4 too? It doesn't hurt to keep trying every month! Miracles can happen! I would say surgery may increase your chances. At least that is what I am hoping for myself. While waiting for surgery I am doing everything I can to nourish my body so it can support pregancy.... healthly eating, more excerise, acupunture, anti-inflamatory diet and supplements. Fingers crossed it happens for you. Hopefully some of the other ladies on this site can provide some good news stories. Always so encouraging to read them :)

Hello, thank you for your response and sorry to hear that your are in a similar situation with endo. Like you I’m trying everything possible yoga, healthy anti-inflammatory diet, supplements. Currently on my last injection of Prostap, in the hope it helps ease my endo enough to allow success implantation of our next embryo transfer.

Best of luck to you in your journey, I hope it happens soon for you 😊

Hiya Amelia I have stage 4 endo with bowel involvement and had kissing ovaries. I had a lap in June last year due to chronic pain and difficulty getting pregnant at 35 . I had always known something was wrong with all the pain but unfortunately was given pain killers which ended up flaring my endo anyway. The way the disease was it was highly unlikely I would become and sustain a pregnancy without health care support. I was referred for ivf and my second round was a success and baby is due in August. Talk to your health care provider about your options, and weigh up the benefits/costs of surgery with someone you trust.. I found attending an endometriosis UK group I found the London one invaluable, and plan to join my nearest group now I live elsewhere. Wishing you all the very best X

Hello, thank you for your reply and congratulations! Not long to wait now 😊

I’ve had numerous embryo transfers over the years and always thought something was up and self diagnosed endo & ando (despite not having regular symptoms). My doctor agreed to do an MRI and both could be seen. On the wait list for a lap, but been told it’s two years, been exploring privately but due to it being in my colon & vagina as well as uterus likely around £14k 😬 So Prostap is my hope to ease it enough for embryos to latch on and stay there, along with acupuncture, anti flam diet, castor oil packs etc. When you had your lap, was this a diagnostic lap or treatment to remove endo?

Thanks again for your reply and wishing you the very best with the arrival of your little one 😊

That's very frustrating about the waiting list and I'm sorry to hear about your transfers in the past. I reckon there will be lots of people oh here who have been prescribed prostrap in preparation for ivf. I had a diagnostic lap and they sorted the kissing ovarie but left the bowel as needs a specialist surgeon for that. It sounds like you know your body very well and I hope you keep advocating for the treatment you need. Wishing you all the best xxx

hi, I have stage 4 endo it’s affecting my bowel mainly I don’t as of yet have any as far as my tubes or ovaries. I also have adenomyosis which I have a large focal lesion at the fundus of my uterus and lots of diffused patches everywhere. I was diagnosed after ultrasound and then MRI to confirm. I had a laparoscopy with a specialist prior to starting IVF he didn’t do anything felt the adeno was too large to remove without high risks. He explained as I hadn’t had IVF yet I should try before surgery due to location and how deep it had embedded risks of several different factors including bowel perforation and loss of my womb altogether. He also put me on zoladex for 6 months prior to starting long protocol. I then had two rounds and transfers unfortunately both were unsuccessful, however I did then conceive naturally soon after the second failed round. My little boy is now 16 months old. I then conceived naturally again when he was 6 months old and my little girl is now 6 weeks old. Both miraculous. I do believe the zoladex and down regs, plus stims etc all played a part in helping me. I also ate high protein diet lots of fish and green vegetables, took DHEA for 4 months before starting and coq10. I wish you all the luck. Feel free to PM me. X

Hello, thank you so much for your message and sharing your experience. You are definitely the positive outcome I was hoping to hear of 😊 Congratulations on both your successes too, despite the odds you did it! This gives me the extra hope I need, and focus that what I’m doing this time will get us to our dream, I am determined it will happen.

Im sure another question will pop into my mind before long and if it does I’ll PM you, thank you for your kind offer 😊🙏
