Good morning, Shoulder pain is possibly a sign of internal bleeding so could indicate a ovary cyst rupture - if you have intense one sided abdominal pain it's best to seek medical attention via A&E now.

Do you have any other symptoms currently?

Do you just get it during your period? I also get intense shoulder pain on the first couple days of my period. They said this can often happen if endo has reached your diaphragm..

It also stops me sleeping well and can hurt to breathe sometimes with it too. I’ve learned lots of inprofen (not paracetamol) and a shoulder weights session really makes it subside. Hope that helps 😊

Hi,

I have recently been diagnosed with deep infiltrating endometriosis and have been experiencing left shoulder pain and it is constantly there. Has been there for over a week now. It started off as a tingling but then turned into pain. I’m not sure if it is related to the endo or something completely separate. I do have a cyst on the right ovary and am currently awaiting my appointment with the gynaecologist. Did you even find out if the pain was related to endometriosis? And did you manage to get rid of it at all?

Thank you

I did, it’s occasionally a symptom of diaphragmatic endometriosis. I’m due my excision in the next month or so x

Thank you for your reply.

How did they check if you had diaphragmatic endometriosis? Did you manage to find anything to help with the pain? Hope the excision goes well for you x

so I had a lap in May last year and they wanted to complete the excision with a specialist. Once I was referred to the specialist I re did all my scans and consultations etc and he got an mri of my whole abdomen once I told him about my shoulder pain.

He’s been great so far and actually seemed interested in the shoulder pain as it’s not a very common issue with gynae endo. I don’t know what they can do for it - il update you when it’s done ✅
