For a few years now, every few months in my cycle, I get a stabbing pain in my left side, left shoulder and it radiates to my back. More recently, I’ve felt the pain in my left breast and chest bone as well. I have made a doc’s appointment to get this checked out. I have no other worrying symptoms to indicate it’s something more serious (no changes in boob/nipple or any lumps- I do check my boobs regularly and I have no family history of breast cancer). It is worth noting that I carry lots of stress in my shoulders (my left one particularly) and I also suffer from acid reflux as well, so I get terrible heartburn.
The really strange thing is that I get it at the same time as all of my other endo aches and pains, so I’m beginning to wonder if they are related. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

If it makes you feel a bit better I have endo and also have been experiencing the exact same things as you. I’m not sure why? I also get a sharp shooting pain in my right arm pit and have found a lump once before but apparently that’s what happens in cycle was nothing to worry about.
When I spoke to my gynaecologist I told them that I get pains from my knees to top of my leg to where they say the endo is, they told me that the endo can sometimes sit on nerves an that causes shooting pains and aches .
Just the fact you have responded and that you have the same thing has made me feel better, so thank you. I’m not happy that you’re in pain like me obviously, but it helps to know someone is going through what you’re going through.
It’s the most bizarre thing because you don’t associate pains in the chest/shoulder area with endo, but it could be referred pain from nerves that the endo has spread to, like you said. I’ll post when I’ve been to the doctor if you’d like?
I know wish there was a cure for it! Maybe for now to help with the pain, painkillers.
I was given diclofenac.
I know when I was recovering from my operation the pain in my shoulders was related to air trapped from being inflated for the operation so wind.
I think if you seen your Gp they may just reassure you as I’m not a medic but I think the general pain is the endo and the nerves. There are so many in the body leading all different places so it wouldn’t surprise me. But maybe book an appointment just for peace at mind.
I have the same pains, my consultant suspects that endo has attached to my diaphragm. She won’t know until she gets in to have a look. I had an MRI scan which came back clear, but she thinks it may not have been magnified enough to see endo clearly x go back to your gynea and explain the new symptoms.
I have an MRI on a couple of weeks to find out whether the endo has spread inside my bowels. I will mention to the Endo Team that I am currently under the care of about looking at my diaphragm too 😊
