So latex and heavy bleeding

So far I have had 3 monthly zoladex injections and currently on day 8 of period number 3 within that timeframe. Specialist has suggested that pain and bleeding should've stopped with this last injection and they can keep me on it for 18 months if necessary and they are currently uncontactable as on annual leave. If anything my last 2 periods have been longer than normal and the timing is far more unpredictable. Pain is still ongoing and has resulted in taking extended leave from work. I've also become hypertensive during the last 6 weeks and my general gp is trying to get the readings down which is currently sitting in the 180\110 region. Has anyone else had a similar result on Zoladex 3.6mg injections. To be advised that my body should be in a state of menopause and I've bled for 28 days out 65 so far I'm a little perplexed and feeling a bit like a lab rat.

Hello! I also had the zoladex and I bled throughout it. I have since been on a consistent period for 6 years and tried various other treatments to stop them since. My scans are currently showing no reason for the bleeding.

Are you taking HRT as well?

I’m on month 9 now (but just been switched to prostap at a new gp surgery) my first injection of Zoladex caused the worst period of my life both pain and flow and it lasted twice as long as a ‘normal’ period and I suffered pretty bad for the first couple of months with worsening of pain. By my fourth injection the pain was so so much better - the odd twinge but barely noticeable compared to the pain I was in before and I don’t take anything stronger than paracetamol now. I did however continue to have intermittent and sometimes heavy ‘spotting’ and my consultant said this sometimes happens I think he said it’s due to oestrogen withdrawal but don’t quite me on that! I had to go on to hrt if I wanted to continue having Zoladex and it helped stop the bleeding completely. I know not everyone had good experiences with Zoladex but it has been life changing for me and I dread when I am told I can’t have any more injections!

Fingers crossed it settles for you soon and you see some relief

Many thanks for your responses, promising to hear it still has time to get better, yes I am presently on HRT, and to be honest I think the HRT has had the most positive influence to date as I was starting to feel like I was early peri menopausal with night flashes and changes in mood but did wonder if it was the oestrogen withdrawal and the subsequent Hrt doses causing these lengthened and unpredictable bleeds. Consultant is still on holiday but had previously mentioned hysterectomy as final option if this doesn't work. (18 months wait list for this apperently!)
